I cut a few sticks off a board and didnt use them all. Im only letting these three go ! The cut side is lighter the darker side shows the oxidation. Ive had a local hardwood supplier look at it and conservatively its 150 yrs old. It was stored in a barn for atleast 80 yrs before I got it. It is beyond stable and dense, I tortured a piece from square to .860 tapered at the joint end, sealed it and let it hang....it never moved. I cant count the growth rings they are so close together ... pics speak for themselves. When its turned and sealed or finished there is a little curl in it.
Sticks are 1-1/2 inch square and 19 inches long, plenty for a front and butt sleeve.
