This is my dad's 1970's (I think) Mali cue. If anyone knows more about this cue I would love to know anything.

What I would really like feedback on is the idea of me using this as my main cue. I would get a new shaft for $150-$200 to go with it. My biggest dilemma is that it is slightly warped as you can see in the GIF below:

I'm not sure how big of an issue is really is, so I'm looking for some feedback here. My other option is to just buy a full new cue for $150-$200, I've been looking at a Lucasi Sneaky Pete or a Schmelke R062. What would you guys advise?

Thanks,
Matty

Bump, I spoke to my dad and he said it got it used in 1981. He wasn't sure how old it was when he got it though.

That wobble will most likely not effect the way it plays, so shoot with it and enjoy it.

I'd just shoot with is as-is. Assuming the shaft is relatively straight, it's a pretty sweet old-school cue.

warped butts

I played with a cue with a notable warp in the butt, centered about 8 inches from the bumper. I never knew it was warped and it played great. Then when I had the wrap redone, my cuemaker friend said it almos flew off the lathe. After that I sold the cue, it was in my head that it was warped. If its your dad's cue keep it, and cheerish it.
