I have a friend who has a 1996 series Predator Model 314-5 that has never been played with, It's been stored in a case for all these years. It has 2 original 12 pc. shafts, never chalked. He's considering selling it. What's it worth?

He also has a 2nd edition Model 314-4 that he got 2 yrs later that was lightly played with and it also has 2 shafts, one of the shafts is a 12 piece shaft with no predator markings on it, that is the one he used, and the other one is a 10 pc shaft with the "314" marked on it that has never been used or chalked. The cue itself looks like new.

Here's a link to what the cues look like ............ http://www.predatorcues.com/predator_cues_retired_cues.php#96

Thanks in advance.

that cue was like 1000$ n ew i believe. i bet you ccould get 750$ or maybe 800$ to the right person. then 12 pc shafts are tough to find. 1'' ferrule or 3/4''?

post it. worst happens you dont sell.

The Model 314-5:

The ferrules are 1" ferrules on both shafts. 12 piece shafts with no predator stickers on them. I'm guessing that these shafts are fairly rare nowadays being that they are still like new and never chalked. The cue is beautiful and the only thing I notice on the cue is that you can feel the metal rings through the finish but I know that is fairly common with older cues that have done nothing but sit in storage. The cue and shafts are over 10 years old now. He told me that he thought he'd like to get $1300-$1400 for the cue and shafts but it seemed a little high to me so I thought I would ask the experts here about it before I posted it for sale for him to see if he was right in his expectations about what it was worth.

Any more expert opinions about these cues? How about the Model 314-4, 2nd Edition?

ive seen them 12 pc shafts sell high. like 400$ some people loved them. my orig 314 was 12. i liked it. the best you can do is post it. imo there is no way he'll ger his price. there are alot of nice nice CUSTOMS in the fs section that wont sell. marcus had about 5 of the best priced cues availible and cues just arent moving. it took him way way too long to sell a mottey 4 pointer for $1200.

btw an owners view of flawless and the actual condition i found is two different things. rings pop even in multi thousand dollar cues. i figured they were 1''. those shafts hit very stiff

Point of Reference

Here is something to compare to. Not exactly the same and this cue is used but has been refinished and is in great shape. Like I said, this is just for you to use as a comparison. I know your friends is new. I have had a couple of offers but none that were worth selling for. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=156045

Your friend will be holding those cues for quite some time at those prices. As stated, there are some VERY nice customs out there that aren't selling and they are set at bargain prices.
I think you'll be lucky to pull half (or a little more) of what he thinks they're worth
my 2 cents
