Nice Cues

Looks like you're doing great.

One comment - based on one of the photos that shows the shaft, your finish material looks like it adds a lot of yellow.

Could be the photo, could be my screen, or it could be that your finish adds a lot of yellow. I own several cues from lots of guys and none of the finishes do anything more than add gloss.

If your finish does add yellow, my feedback is to go to a more clear one so you don't mask the wood color and your customers aren't worried about the finish more yellowing over time.

Keep up the great work. :)

Hi Joe,
Always plenty of room for quality cuemakers. Word of mouth is your best form of advertisement, and that only comes from people owning, playing & promoting your cues. I am convinced some of the best cues on the market are from almost little-known makers, i.e. Larry Mohr, Cory Barnhart, Billy Gibbs. Attend big tournys, offer cue repair when practical, and keep prices reasonable until demand increases.

Speaking of prices, how much for the leather wrap cue in the pics? I assume it is available for sale??

Beautiful!

Hats off! Excellent work considering you've only got a few years of doing this.

Definitely word of mouth advertising is what'll start you off. Lend your cue to some of the local pool junkies. If they like it then perhaps word will spread. If they dont - ask their critique, take it constructively, improve on the cue/make a new one and make him/her/them try it again. Just keep doing it till you get it right.

Good luck!

cues

the rosewood cue was made to order and is all ready gone.the curly with ebony is for sale.i will take $325 for it.as for the darker look i use omni clear coat ppg finish .the shaft is suppose to be older growth maple and is darker than other shafts that i use.

Excellent Cues

Hi all,

I personally have seen theses cues and tested the rosewood one. They look and play like a dream. Joe C. is in my pool league and I am fortunate to see all of his work. His cues have a great hit to them; both solid and controlling. I currently play with a Joe C. "Curly Maple and Cocobolo" and love it. I've used everything out their (Schon, Pechauer, Predator, Samsara, Wayne etc.) Joe C. cues are as good if not better. It just a matter of time until his cues demand big $$$. Joe is a highly gifted craftsman as well as a genuinely nice guy.
