My 2006 DCC One Pocket DVD arrived yesterday and featured a semi-final match of Efren Reyes vs. Alex Pagulayan and the final match of Efren Reyes vs. Jason Miller.
I also had just recently purchased a 2005 DCC One Pocket DVD of Efren Reyes vs. David Matlock and of Efren Reyes vs. Corey Deuel in the finals.
Anyhow, I found that I enjoyed the 2006 DVD much more. Even though I was at the DCC this year, it was almost impossible to watch matches on the TV table when Efren Reyes was playing there. Also, the DVD gives you a much better perspective of the table.
The 2006 match of Reyes vs. Pagulayan was simply incredible. Both players played very well and it came down to just an inch or so of missed shape or an untimely scratch to end the game. Reyes ran eight and out every single game he won I believe. Pagulayan played very well and scratched once, but otherwise responded very well to each play by Reyes.
The 2006 match of Reyes vs. Miller didn't show any great battles, but it displayed the abilities of Reyes to run-out quite well. Miller never responded well to the safe plays of Reyes and just kept leaving Reyes opportunities to get out. Reyes ran eight and out all but one game. Miller didn't even get a ball I believe!
I have already commented on the 2005 DVD in another thread, but I will say that the Reyes vs. Pagulayan match was the most enjoyable match of the four. Purchase both if you can, but if you can only afford one, I'd recommend the 2006 DVD.
