I just got this new 2010 Blackcreek cue from Travis at Blackcreek cues earlier this year. It is a bumperless Hoppe style. Full splice which is the best in the business in my opinion. It has a steel half joint. I had him build it with the 5/16x14mm joint pin. This cue has two 13mm shafts with ivory ferrules and Moori medium tips. The cue weighs 19.2 oz. I have played around a little bit with a weight bolt and this cue feels the most balanced with the butt weighing 15.2 oz. The shafts weigh a nice 4 oz.

I can tell you guys that this cue has been my player all year. I love it! I cant tell you how awesome this cue plays. I have some pretty hefty cues in my collection and I'm playing with this cue for a reason. I would highly recommend a Blackcreek if your looking at stepping your game up. Sorry for the bad pics its my old camera I had issues with. I'll try to take some better ones with my new one. Thanks, CP

I think the cue has a little bit of a firmer hit to it which I love. If anyone has any questions about the cue send me a PM. Thanks! CP

Its a beaut, C. Is the joint piloted? Just out of curiosity what were the reasons you chose that joint / pin configuration? I know you mentioned the firmer hit, but alot of guys seem to think that a 5/16 pin hits a little softer than a 3/8ths or radial pinned joint. Just asking because I've typically played with steel jointed 5/16ths pins and Just ordered my first wood to wood radial pinned joint. The cue I based my decision on had a very firm hit and a very tight fitting joint. Obviously a lot of other factors like shaft taper, etc, come into play so forgive the rather nebulous question. Just as an aside, I played the demo cues with an ivory as well as a phenolic joint (both radial pins) and to my surprise preferred the hit of the phenolic joint.
Thanks

Great cue! Never seen a Blackcreek with a piloted joint. Wish he'd put more of them out. That's what I use too.

My reasons on that joint pin configuration are pretty easy. I've always liked that joint pin configuration. I had a Showman with that pin configuration I really liked. So it made it pretty easy to pick that configuration. Balabushka and Szamboti used that configuration for a reason. I think because it makes for the best hitting cue. Just my opinion though.

He is putting out more of that configuration here lately. He just started doing it to my knowledge and I do talk to him quite a bit. Thanks for the compliments gang!

2 more pics thats all I got for now!
