I had the privilege of attending one of the 2012 Amateur Masters events in China. On June 1, I sat front row to see Selby play against several well-known amateur players in Qingdao, China, as part of his road tour.
6:30pm, competition about to begin
Bank of Communications (official sponsor) selected their VIP customer to play a game with Selby using all colored balls and only 6 reds. Bank of Communications VIP actually knew a bit about snooker.
Qingdao Amateur plays against Selby in a full game. Selby shows his British wit by feigning picking up a bridge under the table (where it should be but wasn't) and using body language to praise his competitor.
A Qingdao female champion plays snooker for the first time with Selby. Selby shows his charismatic personality by giving her opportunities to pot.
