2013 MO State Amateur 9-Ball

Billiards of Springfield is once again hosting the state 9-ball tournament on February 8-10th. If you've been thinking about going, but haven't yet, you need to get down there this year - back in the spring, Phil told me that this may be the last one! Flyer and signup sheet attached for anyone interested.

I hope your wrong about this being the last one Aaron. Unfortunatly, I won't be making it this year, my wife is dragging me off to Antigua,and we come back late that sat night. I've been going since 82 in columbia, maybe missed 3-4. Never had any crazy thoughts of winning but just enjoyed meeting a whole lot of good people. The first year I weighed about 150, now 190 had hair, not much left now. I know they always fill up, guess Phil must have other things going on. I want to be there when the lights go out.

I'm willing to wager a Coke that the Caribbean sun and crystal blue water will make you forget all about the tournament, LOL.

I think I'm going to drive down to sweat some matches just in case this really is the last one. I hope it isn't, though. Phil just said he was considering shutting down the room due to the same reasons he pulled up stakes in Columbia. He said his liquor license would be up in June or July, and he would have one more tournament before closing the place in the summer. He wasn't sure if he would have another amateur 9-ball, or revive the 9-state tournament for the final fling. It was back in the spring when I last spoke to him, however, so perhaps things have turned around since then. Here's hoping anyway.

That sucks to know that this might be the last one. I'm waiting to see what my roommate says but I think I'm definitely going to donate my money.
