Once in a while my friends and I play with two sets of balls just for the hell of it. One racked at each end. The game goes faster because of more shot opportunities. We stick to normal rules as much as possible.

Wow! This sounds interesting. I find the table can get crowded enough with 15 balls, much less 30.
One question: which rack do you leave with only 14 balls when there is only 1 ball left? Is it the same one every time or does the shooter get to choose?

I also imagine this could make for some interesting safety play (if it's possible to play safe at all).

Sticking to the 14.1 rules as much as possible, the 14 balls are racked at the foot spot.

It would be fun trying to get a ball over to the other rack to break it out.
