3/8 x 10 joint pins

I just bought a used Ariel Carmeli cue today and I hope someone will help me with information about the joint pin.

The pin is what I call a flat bottom thread and a 3/8 x 10 thread protector will screw right on the pin. This pin doesn't look like a regular 3/8 x 10 joint pin, but a 3/8 x 10 works on it. Are there different types of 3/8 x 10 pins and can I use a standard 3/8 x 10 predator shaft on this cue with this flat bottom thread pattern without any problem?

I need to have some new shafts made for the cue because the shafts that came with the cue are too small and are well used. So i'm trying to find out about the joint pin in advance. I've never dealt with Ariel Carmeli and I may end up getting someone else to help me with the shafts.

Thanks in advance,
James

yes there is an acme 3x8-10 and a sw style 3x8-10. both should fit the same shaft thread wise. the only thing that way be different is the legnth of pin sticking out of the cue. sw style tends to be longer

James,
The Predator factory shafts should fit just fine and even if you're having them built.
