K KJ Cues Pro Cue Builder & Repair Silver Member Mar 1, 2011 #9 They're all hollow behind the insert. Ever build an 'i' shaft? How about an OB-1? They're hollow all the way to the bottom of the ferrule. The OBs now have foam in the hollow but there was a time when they didn't.
