314 turned into a Z, is this fixable?

Hey guys,

I bought a cue recently off eBay. It came with a 314-2, which unknown to me the previous owner tried to turn into a Z shaft. It's been turned down way past Predator warranty standards to 11.75ish. It has a shorter ferrule too. Here is a pic next to my other 314-2.

I know you can't be sure by just a picture, but can a new 314 ferrule be put on there or was the actual shaft/tenon shortened? Is it even worth trying to fix since its so thin? Yes, I have contacted the seller about this.

Would like some input (especially KJ), as this will be going to Seybert's for needed repairs.

Thanks

IMO, at this point there is no fixing it. Once the wood has been removed it can't be put back on.
If the shaft is still playable, play it until you can't. I'm not sure what Sey can do for you.

HTHs, KJ

Yeah, that's kinda what I figured, unfortunately.

Thanks

Use the eBay return policy or PayPal dispute. If he didn't mention it was turned down below warranty standards, then the item is not as described. PM if you need help filing the dispute.
