8 Foot Pro or 9 foot table?

I will be buying a new table shortly and am very picky so its been a battle.

I have the chance to get a new Diamond, in the black I want, and the size is the Pro 8. So the playing surface is 92X46 as opposed to a 9 foot 100x50. Cost diference of course is about 1500-2k as well.

My room size for the length of the table is 17'6" exactly.

What are some room sizes out there for people who have diamonds. I want to enjoy a new table, would like 9 but I think the Pro 8 is a good mix between 8 and 9.

Thoughts?

I have a Pro 8 diamond and I think it's the perfect mix. I play leagues with a lot of 7-8ft tables and a few 9ft tables. I think the pro 8 is the perfect balance. I built a 16x20 (outside dimensions) outbuilding for it, which gives me 15'4"x19'4" and that's just enough room for the table and a couple small corner tables in the front with a small fridge beneath one. I had buyer's remorse as soon as I pounded the final framing nail and wish i would have gone 16x24. I could really use the extra space for seating etc, but it is plenty of room. 17'6" is going to be pretty tight, but as long as the table is centered and there's nothing around the edges, you won't have anything obstructing your cue/stance. If you just want the table in there, you should be fine.

Thank for the info.. one side of the room has a stair case with open railing and a small hallway so its only 17.6 with a str8 on shot against the wall.

I am just worried if I get a 9 it will be too big and a Pro 8 will not satisfy as I currently have an 8 foot table.

I am removing a Lolly Column and putting up a support beam as my 8 foot right now is closer to a side wall and i have to raise my cue..

So you saying I wil be happy with a new Pro 8 as opposed to squeezing in a 9 foot in my space?

I can't say whether or not you will be happy, but I couldn't be happier with my decision. I don't wish I had gone 9ft ever, but that doesn't mean that you won't :)
