My wife and I have a 9 ball tournament every week with a small pay out. I would like to change that once a month to a 9 ball race to 5, 9 ball bank race to 2 and 14.1 race to 4. The winner of the 14.1 games would be the first player to make 8 balls in one rack, with call all shots. I hope to get some of my customers playing 14.1.
Here in the Philippines the favorite game is a game called 61. You use all 15 balls and play rotation from the 1 ball to the 15 ball. Each ball made counts as face value and the first player to reach 61 points wins the game. The problem is slop counts so most players are bangers that ride the balls and try to slop something in. If they do they have a big laugh. The problem is banging the balls is very rough on the pool table and I hate to see it.
Do any of you have any thoughts on playing a 14.1 game with only a race to 8 balls?
In time I hope to have 14.1 tournaments with a race to 2, race to 3 and on the final day a race to 4 with the top 16 players in the tournament. The top 6 players win some money. My customers love the 9 ball tournaments and I have a good turn out when I have them. Last week was the first week I ever made any money on a tournament. Not much but there was a profit.
