hi! i just want to know what are the records of the people here in potting the 9-ball on their break....since we dont usually play 9-ball here, if i remember it right, i think i have made only made the 9 ball on the corner i think twice or thrice in my 4 yrs of playing.
also, i would like to know what's the record of 9 balls being pocketed on the break on a sardo rack compared with a normal rack?
people say its not good to use sardo rack because it creates some sort of canals for the balls to roll through on the break thus the wing balls will most of the time rush to their respective corner pockets and the 9 ball to one of the pockets.

I average ~10% (4 out of my last 36 breaks in matches), but I break aggressively. That's not always the best way to stay at the table. :)

yeah. i noticed that as well, at least in my case...that's why im using soft breaks on 9-ball, it just spreads out the ball on the table just fine., also, there's much more tendency for a ball to come in a pocket. its in my case only. ;)

come on guys...im not talking about how many balls are pocketed in after a break...im just wondering if indeed more 9-balls are being pocketed on the break on a sardo tight rack.

The skirts, as you call them, are smart enough to already have stopped using the Sardo.

People like good hard breaks. Watching Cory break at 14mph is not exactly thrilling.

And how about this nonsense where they spot the 9 on the spot instead of the 1 ball.

I usually make the 9 on the break once every 100 breaks. Then I spend the next 99 breaks trying to figure out how I did it.

Playing a race to 5 for time, I made the nineball in on the break all 5 racks in a row. Needless to say, probably the cheapest set of nineball anyone has ever played.
I have never been a great breaker. I was practicing yesterday and on the first break I smashed in the nine ball instantly. For the rest of the day I tried to duplicate that break, The nineball never fell in again or even came close.

This girl came up to me in a pool hall and asked if I could show her how to break. I put the cb about 5" from the head rail, about 4" from the center diamond and showed her how to form a good bridge on the rail. She made the 9 on the first break. I laughed out loud and said something stupid. A couple of guys had been watching and they were cracking up too. I racked the balls for her again and she made the 9 again. Now everyone came over to the table and started watching. I racked again and she made the damn ball again!! We all started freaking out! I racked again and she didn't make a ball. She tried a few more times but it was just one of those weird things that happens once in a while in this game. For a little while there were quite a few of us that were starting to wonder what the heck was going on! Every so often, you see something or do something in this game that is just really something! That's probably one of the things that keeps me interested in it.
