what is the star pattern system? is it a worthwhile investment to purchase the video tapes?

Spammusubi...oooohhhh so ono

You are referring to Bert Kinister's 6-pointed star video, right?
I saw it. Bert can draw the whole thing on one piece of paper but it wouldn't make him any money.:D
I think it depends on your level of play. If you are just a beginner, you wouldn't even have an idea how to stroke the ball to get to the next shot. If you are an advanced player, it's worthless I think.

I think this is what this thread is referring to. I tried it and felt it was pretty useful for practice sake. You can start these drills with 3 balls. You play them in numerical order. One ball is frozen to one rail at the first diamond, another ball in an identical position on the other side of the table and a third ball on the bottom rail frozen next to the center diamond. The object is to shoot them in numerical order and changing the order occasionally. Once you feel comfortable with that, you can add balls and put them at different positions on the table. It's just another drill using a lot of rail shots. I thought it was pretty helpful. Bert has tapes that demonstrate these drills from the simplest to the most complicated.

Bert Kinister's Video on the 6 point Star & 9 Point Star are worth their weight in GOLD.

BUT if you are just going to watch them at home & forget them... save your money.

The info on 4 or 5 tapes that Bert Kinister sells, made a world of difference in my Pool Game.... maybe I should send Bert some of my Winnings. Maybe NOT... Bert's probably got enough money.

Bert Kinister's tapes

I hated the LADDER, until I finally got my english under control. The Side Pocket Winners & It's a Hanger was GREAT. The 6 & 9 Point Star was good too...

I have a 9' Pool Table at home & a big TV w/remote in the same room. Practice at my home is PARADISE. After 3 months of those tapes & doing drills at home, I was a better player than I was as a young man (I made a living Playing Pool while attending College). Then I quit for about 25 years ... 15 months after I started again, at 56 years old, I won a State Championship.

Now I'm a Retired old man that specializes in ridding the young fellows of their lunch money.

Books, Videos, Lessons, Drills... these are things we didn't have when I was growing up. The ingredients are abudant around you, make yourself a recipe for learning the Game of Pool...
p.s. take your Cue Stick with you to Heaven... or....

Have you ever seen Bert play. They must do a whole lot of editing . He isn't that great. His tapes are though. His list of tapes is wonderful to learn and practice. But i have seen him in competition. Not that hot.
