90s Schon Shaft

I have a early 90s Schon Shaft with gold lettering. I need a butt to go with it. Wondering if which butt would make the best hit? Does it matter if the butt is newer? I’ve been trying to find a 1990s Schon Butt to match but will it matter? Thanks!

Playability is always subjective.
There's always apples and oranges then someone wants a banana. You know.
The thing on Schon Shafts to be aware of, is the brass pilot being approximate .528 o.d. so chances are slim of another cue butt having a pilot larger than .500. A modification has to be done.

Thank you Michael, I’m sitting at Pockets on the Southwest side and John the cue repair man just fixed it on his lathe to fit on my late 80s Helmstetter. Can’t wait to try it. I did find a Schon butt waiting on pics but not sure if I should get it. Is a decent butt just a butt and what’s matters is mainly the shaft? Never tried to figure it out before now.

the gold lettering sounds like logo is written horizontally in the collar vs vertically above the collar, which would indicate a 1993 shaft. 1993 butts have a specific pin, a 5/16x14 pin with a nose, so if you wanted originality, you would need a 1993 butt.

Thanks would like to find a 93 Butt to mainly test the hit. But how do I tell the Butt is a 93? I’m learning the shaft is a 93, I’m guessing from what I read they only did that lettering as you described one year back in 93.
