State Championship Eligibility
· All league players must have played in a minimum of four full, regularly scheduled league matches in the same league division over at least four calendar weeks during a sanctioned session (example: 4 games per night, 16 games per session) and must be deemed an active player by the league operator in order to participate in the state tournament.
· Sanctioned player membership must be current for the entire month of January 2005. Sanctioned player member dues are $25 annually.
· All players must meet amateur status requirements (please see BCA Pro Players List at www.playbca.com).
· Players must be able to show picture ID and a valid U.S. Social Security Number.
· Only BCA league players and sanctioned player members may participate in singles events.
· Only qualified BCA league players may participate in Scotch Doubles and team events.
· An Open Team may contain 2 Master Players, but only 1 may participate in any given round.
· Only 3 returning members from a men’s team finishing in the top 24 places or a women’s team finishing in the top 4 places at the National Tournament or at a previous State Tournament (top 2 places for men – top 1 for women) will be allowed to compete in the team championships.

Dress Code
Singles Competition
· Men must wear sleeved shirts of polo/golf style or button-down style with a conventional fold-over collar. Women must wear sleeved shirts or blouses of polo/golf style or conventional style with a fold-over collar. Absolutely no t-shirts allowed. Absolutely no headgear allowed. Absolutely no sweats, warm-up suits or jogging suits allowed.
Men must wear long pants, either dress pants or neat, clean, untorn jeans. Women may wear dress pants, Capri-style pants, or neat, clean, untorn jeans. Women may also wear culottes, skirts or dresses of conservative length.
Men and women must wear clean, neat, close-toed shoes at all times. Should a player require a footwear exception for medical reasons, the player must provide a letter on official letterhead from the player’s health care provider before the tournament.
Scotch Doubles
Same requirement as singles competition. Matching shirts worn by Scotch Doubles teams are preferred but not mandatory.
Team Competition
Team shirts are required for all teams. Dress code must meet Singles Competition requirements. Color and style of team shirt must be matching for all team members. This includes front and back of shirts if they have a logo or monogram. Each team member must have his or her own team shirt/blouse. “Borrowing” the shirt of a teammate is not permitted.
General
The dress code will be in effect and enforced at all times on the main tournament floor. This includes practice while competition is going on. Referees are the final authority on dress code at all times. Referees may require immediate compliance or compliance at their discretion.
