tables

Thanks, Matt. I appreciate the kind words.I just set up a couple West of you. They were the newer ones with the diamond wood. Nice tables and of course, when i grabbed my camera to take some pics, the batteries were dead. Sorry i could not make it to the party. i talked to Ken last week at the Carom Room and he said they played great and they were set up nice.
It sure looks nice in there with the area cleaned up and the car gone.

Shop

That's my kind of mechanic's shop, with two 9ft Diamonds!

Just make sure you've got lots of Fast Orange on hand before you play pool. ;)

Oddly enough a friend of mine has a car shop and on the second floor of the shop he's got 4 tables set up and is open for friends 7 days a week 24 hours a day. 3.00 per hour.

Hey Mully, How does he do for buisness? Can you bring your own drinks? It could be turned into a private club?

Well, he loves pool so he had the space and put the tables in. It's open to everyone but because of it's situation I've yet to see a stranger in there. Every customer is someone that we all know. He does enough business that he runs tournaments sometimes and he puts together a team for team matches at other places. Food and drinks, you can bring in whatever you like. He's got a small fridge in there full of sodas and canned coffee etc... for a dollar. He's also usually got baskets with chocolate, cookies, candies etc... sitting at the tables for everyone to snack on, he doesn't charge for that stuff. The payment plan is basically on trust because he's not always there. If you start playing you write down your start and stop times and then just make sure to leave the money there with the ticket. He's got a little cash box with about 100 dollars in bills and about 20 bucks in change so you can make change for yourself. Total honor system and I've yet to see or hear of anyone taking advantage of it.

and there's an ashtray that you put your drink money in if you take one out of the fridge....the Japanese equivalent of a dollar is a coin.

And there's usually someone in there every night of the week. Weekends are busier of course. I've never had to wait for a table though.

Hey, Matt. It was for a private room that a bar owner owned. Another words, it is for gambling. See Ya, Ron
