I am focusing only on cues these days and decided to unload some of the rare books in my collection. I will soon have pics on 3cushion.com of some new cue acquisitions including the work of Hercek, Kersenbrock, Ed Young (two or three), Rambow, and PFD. Since the focus of my collection has become cues, and that they are not cheap
I decided it was time to unload some books. I will consider any reasonable offer on the books below:
Kentfield, Edwin. 1839. Kentfield on Billiards. London. First edition, excellent condition hard cover. Great plates showing various aspects of the game including the effects of squirt and swerve, something that is commonly thought of as discovered only several years ago. The book also illustrates the concept of the pivot point on a cue stick. Considering this book was written virtually right after the invention of the leather tip, it is easy to consider that this book was a hundred years ahead of its time with regard to technical knowledge of the game. There are top players of today who swear that squirt is non-existent. One of the very most sought after books on billiards. Very rare, and hardly ever available anywhere.

Garnier, Albert. 1880. Scientific Billiards. Garnier’s Practice Shots, with Hints to Amateurs. New York: D. Appleton & Company, 1, 3, & 5 Bond Street. Front and back covers slightly worn and some wear on binding. Plates and pages are like new. Gilt letters on front cover still very nice with only slight wear. The billiard table on the cover nicely colored as well as the ball path lines illustrating the cover shot.

Polsky, Ned. 1967. Hustlers, Beats, and Others. Chicago: Aldine Publishing Company. 1st Edition with original dust jacket. A sociological study of the characters of the pool room, horse track, and other fine places. Book in excellent condition and very rare in hard cover. Book plate on inside indicates once in the collection of Peter John Kott.
I also have several Winning One Pocket, and Shots Moves Strategies sets in hard cover...even in bonded leather and lizard skin! PM or email me if interested in any of the above...
