So the other night I was practicing a bit in the basement, and as always, finished the session with a bunch of kicks. The last pair of shots never fail to make me
, so, for your potential amusement ...
The basic idea is, with the cueball on the black spot, to make the 1 ball with one shot taken directly at the 3rd diamond. Then make the 2 ball with another shot from the same cueball position and shot direction / speed (firm, say 3-3.5 long rails). I play this with dead centerline cueing (no side/english), of course the 'trick' is using top then bottom. Anyway, it just makes me smile to see these two shots zing acrurve the table

)END
Just out of interest, I tried these two shots at the pool hall the next night, they've recently recovered their 9' Nationals with 'Speed Cloth' (tm/lingo?). WOW, it was ear-to-ear
Didn't need to hit them as hard (rails really shorten) nor with as much top/bottom. It just goes to show you, literally, the differences in cloth and rails. (how'd I do there literally-police?)
Smilin' Dave
ps the WEI code may not exactly match the little picture attached ... sigh
