I ended up straight in on the 7 in a hill match in the finals of a local house tournament tonight. Seeing that the 8-9 combo was not very attractive, I clipped the 7 off the cushion. I figured the worst that would happen is I'd at least hit the 9 and leave the cue ball dead on the rail with not much of a shot on the 7 anyway. Ended up dropping the 7 and played the 8 and 9 to win it all. Not the most brilliant shot in the world, and I'm sure most players would have done the same, but the reaction of the gallery when I pulled it off was total amazement................................which in turn got me a little excited after it was all over.
