A Nice Weekend With Scott Lee

Had my third lesson with Scott this past weekend. Scott got in late Friday evening. After a short cool down period from his drive, a beer and some conversation, we went down to the basement and played pool until 4:00 AM. I found out why Scott's doing the teaching and I was doing the learning. LOL

Lesson all day Saturday. Lots of learning and lots of laughs as well. IMHO, Scott has an outstanding knowledge of the game, a good eye and is gifted as a teacher. I was really hoping to get 1/2 as much out of this lesson as I did the second one and wasn't disappointed, I think I got way more out of this lesson.

I like Scott's "style" of teaching. Scott provides his views on different aspects of the game. He isn't heavy handed or insistent that you do everything exactly as he says you need to. None of this "my way or you'll never be a good player" crap. Scott also takes the time to explain why he is teaching a certain thing but he doesn't "lecture". I've had lots of coaches for various sports when I was younger, taken a lot of golf lessons and can say that Scott's teaching ability is absolutely top notch! You learn, you have fun and Scott helps you feel better about your game and opportunity to get better. Doesn't get much better than that.

Dinner out at a local Mexican restaurant Saturday night with us both enjoying a fish bowl sized Margarita. Another pool match until almost 2:00 AM following with Scott teaching me the Pooliards game.

Thanks Scott, I feel like I learned a ton and had a great time to boot. Looking forward to lesson number four in January.

Scott really does a great job of teaching. He has helped me a lot over the few years I have known him.

Scott is definitely a class act, and I'm not surprised at all that a great time was had by all. ("Great time" also equals smooth and receptive knowledge transfer, btw!)

I myself very much look forward to Scott's return to the northeast area (e.g. lower NY / western CT), and besides buying him a wood-fired-brick-oven-cooked Italian meal, I can indulge myself in a little brush-up session on my mechanics with Scott!
