At my local bar we have a lady in her late 60's, when I first met her, several months ago, she was a horrible pool player but she loved the game. She's the one nobody wants as a partner. I told her about 3 months ago that anytime she wanted to partner up I would be glad to do it. I'm not exaggerating here but her game has improved 1000% in the past 2 months, she went from not being able to make a short straight in shot to making 90% of all the shots she tries. It's absolutely amazing!
All it took was someone willing to be kind to her and give her a few tips, she is not viewed as a gimmie game by anyone these days.
