I saw areally nice sneaky cue last night.
It took a while for me to notice, but then when seeing him shoot , realised it was not a house cue.
From the bar to the table , the joint was not obvious, and the ferrule looked like a mess, chalkmarks and a split in it.
The guy told me , it was an over cover glued on to look like an abused bar cue.It came with it on the cue. The tip is a one piece buffalo now.
It worked because, it takes your attention away from the joint and you just can't believe how nice a hit it makes with a cracked looking ferrule.
He did not know who made it, as it was a gift and there are no markings on the cue what so ever to identify the maker.
Does or has anyone tried that on any of their sneaky's ?

No, but I tried dulling down the joint on my SP to make it less noticeable.

It sounds like after all of the ferrule misdirection that his stroke may have tipped you off?
 
He played a quite a few games with nothing special.
But then he did a draw shot near the length of the table to get position on the 8,that was a giveaway for me.

If the fish aren't biting, it's hard not to show some speed eventually.
