??? about matching ring work on McDermott cue

I've got a McDermott cue and I would like to get a low deflection shaft for it. The cue is the M33A Classic model. It has McDermott's quick release joint and a silver railroad ring pattern on the shaft and cue. Several websites sell OB1, Predator 314 and the McDermott I shafts that all have the matching ring work. Will the ring patterns line up or do I have to send the cue to McDermott? Thanks.

Most likely they will not line up.. All you will have to take the shaft to a qualified repair person and have the shaft faced off until the rings line up.

I don't recall exactly but there's like 20 or so dashes in that ring-work.
Chances are good that it's going to be very close to lining-up anyway. If it's off, it can't be off by more that a few thou. worth of face cut.
Just for the sake of asking, do the rings on the butt-sleeve line-up?
Do they line-up with the rings at the jnt. collar?
Do you see where I'm going with this?

Thanks for the responses. There are only two different pairs of rings on the cue. One pair is on the butt sleeve and one pair is on the shaft and directly under the joint. I'm going to find someone at the pool hall that has a McDermott cue with the same joint and see how close their shaft lines up and go from there.
