I'm new to the group, but I have a question for all who sanction leagues or play in sanctioned leagues. Is your league sanctioning with BCA or ACS and why? Thanks! Denise in Las Cruces

Wecome to the group!

Hey I am kind of new too but this is an awesome group of people. There is already a thread about this you should be able to find out some answers Here.
and Here
As you can see from the other threads its a question a lot of people are asking. My league joined the ACS though for now. No one can tell you how its going to turn out.
Again Welcome!

My area stayed BCA Oregon, Washington & Idaho. for good reasons. Organizations that intend to split or divide the players for ideological reasons do not deserve my support. I’m angry at a certain group of state association directors for the lack of foresight putting players in this bad spot. You should research information that you discover on this forum or any forum

start here

Actually, the BCA Organization was the one that put the State organizations AND the players on the spot. There was no consultation with the state entities on the sale. The state orgaizations wanted to talk of a sale of the organization to them and no response was given by the BCA. Mark Griffin knew that when he purchased that the states were/are unhappy with how the sale was handled and the no response from the BCA and also no effort on Griffin's part to contact the states BEFORE he made the purchase. The states did tell the BCA exactly what their intentions were if the BCA league system was sold, to form a new organization. Seems to me like the BCA and Mark Griffin are responsible for any player split.

Check your facts before you post on this board.

WAGS You say: the BCA Organization was the one that put the State organizations AND the players on the spot. There was no consultation with the state entities on the sale

Fact: The owner of BCA pool Leagues the BCA Trade Association sold it to the new owner Mark Griffin. It had a right too. And Mark Griffin was awarded the right to purchase it in a legal bid. If not why no law suit then. The situation is like this you buy a bike with your saved up allowance and the bully in the neighborhood want your bike he convinces others bully friends to support him then and go around saying that bike is not yours it is his.. How can you say that the kid who bought the bike caused the problem. Did we have to ask the bullies if it was ok to buy the bike first.

You Say: The state organizations wanted to talk of a sale of the organization to them and no response was given by the BCA. : Mark Griffin knew that when he purchased that the states were/are unhappy with how the sale was handled and the no response from the BCA and also no effort on Griffin's part to contact the states BEFORE he made the purchase

Fact : Which state associations wanted to talk about the sale. My association didn’t. Most of the league operators didn’t know about any of this until after the purchase. How could they talk about what they didn’t know. Some associations have not even voted as of yet on there position. My association EX-President lent his creditable to ACS way back when and lied about it. My association president knew what was going on way before any of us and didn’t tell us. He now works for ACS. He kept it from us. Why?? But none of the state association presidents had any approval from the state association members for the aligning with the ACS prior to the sale and before any of us could weigh out the issues, Why?? These people never had any formal support. They did it on their own. They didn’t represent anyone but themselves. You can talk to any of the ACS Board members and they will tell you they did not have the approval of their state association members. “I have this on videotape from an ACS meeting in Vegas”.

What states were unhappy at Mark Griffin most of my area league operators are happy about it. We see that there can be an improved situation. States were not mad at Mark Griffin a select few tried to convince us that the other states were all on board. That was a lie. They tried to say it was a bad thing well it was not. They made it sound that something was going to change in a for profit league, most of the reasonable and intelligent people saw through those points of propaganda. A for profit is more efficient. Anyone who know Mark even acs people will say he is a great guy.

Many people initially bid were each of them suppose to tell you they bid and why?? The people were aware of the situation, were namely all the current ACS board members as far back as November and maybe before that. Why did they not try to inform us all when things were going to develop…no they just let it go…I know why?

You Say: The states did tell the BCA exactly what their intentions were if the BCA league system was sold, to form a new organization

Fact: I am a state association Board member we said nothing we didn’t discuss it until after sale. States said nothing to the BCA only a select few people did and without any authority. This self acclaimed group of un-elected ACS people went out on there own they tried to give the appearance that all states supported them they were threatening a coup. A coup is what this is. Trying to take the bike away from the kid who bought it is wrong. That’s what did the harm, is this group going out to prove a feeble point. The BCA trade association made some mistakes but they didn’t create the splitting of players it is from the spin that ACS has done.

Sorry you should know your facts/history before you (as you say it) "post on this Board" .well ....that just makes you look, well, kinda ……….quaint :o

Congratulations "Wags", you've made probably the most misinformed post I've seen in a long time, and with Fast Larry and The Silencer running around that's saying something! My league, the Modesto BCA League decided to give the BCA a chance. After thorough research it was obvious that the only group that didn't actively screw the pool players was that headed by Mark Griffin. So, go to the ACS if you want "Wags", John and Betty are eagerly awaiting your dues. As for the rest of you I'll see you at the Riviera in May, I'll be they guy asking for weight! :D

TAP, TAP, TAP Playsome. Looks like ol wags must be one of theose disgruntled, misinformed, blinded and totally bonkers ACS cronies from up north. It just amazes me with how totally brainwashed some of these people are.

For your information Mr. Wags lets get a few things straight.....

When John Lewis and Betty Harris found out the league system was for sale, they started removing vital information from Colorado. This is what Mark Griffin was in the process of purchasing, they just removed it, just like they are trying to "remove" the league players away form him.

They couldn't afford to purchase the business, as Mr. Griffin did, so they are just plain trying to take it. This is why people who have NOT requested information from Betty Harris or the ACS have received it anyway. You are on a mailing list that was unauthorized to take and was part of what Mark Griffin was buying. In essence, each time you receive an unauthorized letter from the ACS you are receiving SPAM.
** Plain and Simple.**

There have also been posts regarding Mr. Griffin having asked Mr. Lewis to stay on after the sale.

This is partially true, but from what I have found out, originally Mr. Griffin asked the entire office to stay on including Mr., Lewis until he found out that the Lewis/Messer/Harris team existed. Then with the discovery arising, it was apparent that Mr. Lewis, Mr. Messer and Ms. Harris had ulterior motives in mind, and it would be a complete conflict of interest to have them involved. Because of this, Mr. Ducoff terminated them all. Would you not fire someone who was planning a hostile takeover of your company? Would you want to keep someone on your staff who is removing information to use against you? Would you keep these people on to continue to let them take from you?

And the answer is? Common Wags... what's your answer? Do you really know what's going on?

Now, after reading this can you actually tell yourself that this is someone that you would like to continue to support. Is this someone that is truly interested in the sport or just out for themselves? Conduct as this is self serving and hazardous to the sport. This is but an another blatant demonstration of the highly unethical manner in which the ACS is attempting to manipulate the members of the BCA league system.

You will never gain from these people, by participating in ANY ACS events you are supporting their lifestyles, you are contributing to mismanagement and furthermore you are supporting people who have literally torn this industry up.

You make the call, it's now in the players hands to be the referees.

We are staying with BCA in our area. We have not heard a lot of good stuff about the new acs and our friends feel that we should stick with what we know. why change? If its not broke don't fix it!

In Minnesota, this has been talked about for a few months now. The bottom line is. or at least my understanding in a nutshell: The MN BCA borrowed the MN ACS all it's money in its bank account (about 40Gs) then dis-banded. And you guessed it, the same people were involved in both organizations, but it was done legally.

Sound morally correct to you? You decide.

The bottom line is, as of yet, I do not know if the leagues I play in will sanction for ACs or BCA.
