My 1988 Adam

I have a similar ADAM cue I bought in 1988. My ADAM is the "Balabuska" style design.

Mine is 95% and if I gave anywhere near $2500 for mine I must have been absent from that particular transaction.

I can't believe that ten years earlier an ADAM cue sold for $2500.

Heck, I don't think real Balabuska's sold for $2500 in the 1970s!

Good story he's telling though . . . :D

Yea, Those guys always have B.S. story for how much it cost "thier friend" or "A road plyer" or "My friend the profesional pool player" When they dont know a damb thing about it! those sold for about $125.00

Its a good looking cue but...

It is going to cost quite a bit to get a matching shaft ring done for that thing. If you can even find all the right colors of plastic! Its hard to find some of that stuff these days.

they were all made by hand, and even a spare matching shaft may not fit real well, i find very few that match up at the joint from cue to cue.
I have had a tuff time matching some of the much more simple ones.

A missing shaft is a pretty big hit on its value.

You can also try emailing Adams in Japan. I helped a friend identify his a few years ago and they were very helpful.

I'm afraid mine cost a bit more than $125 but certainly nowhere near $2500!

As for a shaft, I just had an OB-1 with matching ring work done and it cost me $225.
SS joint on mine was .840 so the standard 5/16x18 shaft from OB-1 was to small; it's .830 and it's certainly noticeable.
Also the standard OB-1 uses black with no silver ring and is NOT piloted.

My cues balance is better and it plays so much better; imho!
