Hey all,

I am in the market for a new cue and am looking at these Adams Pool Cues. Specifically the AH-10 or FG-12 http://www.billiardwarehouse.com/cues/adams/adams_pool_cues.htm

I have looked through the search engine of this forum and have heard a little bit about this cue but not that much, most people speak highly of there older lines of cues. Can anyone give me some more details on how these cues will play, and just general information about the company? Is the standard Adams shaft more stiff or does it have some whip to it? I have never played with one, but I really like the way these cue's look. I am about to graduate college and and am looking treat myself to a reward. I have heard the Adam cues of old played very well,so is there a difference in the craftsmanship between now and then? I have also heard that the factory which is in Japan makes other lines of cues as well. I have not really heard anything bad about this cue, but if yall could give me some insight to this possible purchase it would be well appreciated.

Thanks!

Adams makes solid cues and very popular here in Japan. The two cues you mentioned are popular classic designs and are a good value as well, imo. As far as shafts, the standard Adams shafts are generally not whippy and not stiff either, just in between. You can always upgrade your shafts later if you want.

My friend plays with a cue similar to the AH-10 and I was surprised at how detailed the veneers and inlays were. I think you can't go wrong for the price.

thank you for the reply. it seems like in general, a lot of the cues coming out of japan right now are good quality, any thoughts?

You may find more on a search if you drop the "s". It's Adam cues.

Well first off, I believe they moved most of the production to China. You can get the AH-10 of the original variety occasionally on ebay for about 200-350. Since you're in Texas, you may want to visit one of the many custom cuemakers in your state. Steve Klein in Trophy Club does a great job with the 4 point, classical design with MOP.
