When a tournament takes place such as the Joss Northeast, Blaze, or any of the tournaments like these in size and money, who pays the added money? Is it the pool hall? Is it the sponsor company like Joss. I know Joss gives a cue to the sponsoring pool hall. The cue is raffled off, and the pool hall keeps that money. I believe this is to compensate for the use of the pool hall.

Mike Howerton aka AZHousePro use to run a series of Tournaments in AZ called the ?All Around?, each stop of the ten stops was a $1,000.00 add.
Each stop Oldhausen Billiards (the table makers) added $500.00 + the hosting venue (Pool Room/Bar) add the other $500.00.
Recently there was a $500.00 added Eight & Under 9 Ball Bar Box Tournament in the Valley, it was held in a Bar that added the $500.00. Believe the Entry was $30.00 + $.75/Game looser paying the bar box fee. Mostly 6, 7, and 8 rated players playing and racing to their respective FULL HANDICAP. It was double elimination, and drew 50 players.
Many night in the Valley there are many $5.00 Tournaments where the hosting Bar will add another $5.00 into the price Fund, so if you have 25 Players, a total of $250.00 is paid out. Again there are Bar box fees, and they go from $.25-$.75/game, mostly splitting quarter, and $.50/game is about the average.
Point about the Bar Box Fee they help the Bar cover their ads, or ad moneys? to the tournaments in the Valley.
Personally I would like to see a Flat GREEN Fee in all Tournaments...
