adjusting to butt heavy

hi all,
i recently bought a new joss cue and it is butt heavy and totally different from my cheapo cutec cue. im having a hard time adjusting to the joss. are there any tricks to getting my hit back besides playing with it and getting used to it after a while?

i feel as if i need a longer stroke with the joss and less power but its hard to adjust.

it might have a weight bolt you can remove, undo the bumper and see. If not, if you got a pretty decent game and the stick feels like its putting you off id recommend you dont try to adjust to it, id find out what my old cuetec weighed and get another stick in that weight.

yea ive already looked for the wieght in the butt, but there isnt one. and the cutec is the same wieght.

Send Mike Webb an email, I'm sure he can modify it for you.

Use a looped bridge more often. I had the same problem with my Predator (shhh).

hard to compare

This is not in anyway a bash towards cue tech but I don't think you could ever get that joss to feel the same in your hands as that cue tech. They are just made so different that the joss would always feel butt heavy. Those fiberglass sticks have a distinct hit that you cannot find in a good quality all wood cue. lol
I would suggest just playing with it for a little while longer and see if you get used to it. If you just can't get used to it, there are many cue guys on here that could do some customization for ya.

yeah mike webb would be a good choice, im sure he could core out the butt to lose some weight off it, if they weigh the same then id think it wouldnt take much to get the weight redistributed, although youre going to prob end up with a cue thats an oz or so lighter than what youve been playing with, what is the weight on the joss anyway?

I would give yourself some time to adjust. Play with the Joss for a month or two before making any changes.
