Side Pocket Folds...
I see in the photos that the side pockets have folds! How difficult is it to do the rails w/out the folds? Wouldn't it be better to have the folds to the opposite way (folding up or towards the back of the pocket)? Rookie question, but I've seen tables around here with no folds, what's the trick?

Thanks,
Zim

I prefer folds. The tables come from the factory without folds and they use the valley ultra which has alot of stretch. When using higher grade cloths that is going to become extremely difficult. Second doing your pockets without folds puts alot of stress on the facing, and the facing will fall apart.

That makes sense!
This might be a stupid question, but... I've seen balls that get caught in the folds and are pushed out of the pocket as the cloths loosens or becomes worn. Would it be possible or feasible to fold the opposite way? That way as it gets worn or loose, it doesn't interupt the path of the ball?

Thanks again,
Zim

If it's done right there is nothing loose about it.
I've seen tables around here that you could walk up and slide your finger into on the side pocket.
And that's from the work of the biggest billiards company in Northern California.
Personally, if it's not crisp and tight enough to work a dime into, I'm not too happy, and the table isn't ready.
It just takes some experimenting until you can do it without pulling down the rail rubber.
