Air Rush Opinions

I'm looking for opinions on the Air Rush finish. Has anyone, particularly of the clumsier type owned an Air Rush for a while? Does it dent easily? I remember a friend owning the Air 2 and I was not impressed with the finish. It dented very easily and the paint would fleck and fall off.
It doesn't need to be indestructible, but the Air 2 would get chipped if you looked at it wrong.

So I haven't had mine too long and I'm pretty careful with my cues so mine is perfect. I see a fair number of them and don't remember seeing any that looked too banged up, unlike the Air 2s which I do see a fair number of dinged up ones.

But, they have just been out a lot longer too so that could be a big factor.

I'm guessing it could partly be due to wanting a pretty lightweight butt section which likely means using a softer wood to achieve that....maybe?

Can't stand Predator, because they are literal 'Predator's'. Preying on dumb consumers to throw money at average product. The AirRush, is expensive... but actually one of the few things I'd say genuinely works and is well constructed by them. Got mine second hand, it is and still is in pristine condition. The grip gets a bit tacky/grotty easily. But cleaned with a wipe. Good as new. The carbon shaft and handle material are pretty sturdy.

Genuinely curious, what is it specifically you don’t like?

I’m fairly new to Predator. Having owned a fair few custom cues in the past and still owning two Runde’s and a South West satin, I’m actually quite impressed with Predator quality. Especially their playing cues.

In my experience the cues are well finished, dead straight, great balance and feel high quality. I bought a 9K-1 and then a K series Classic 1 when I saw one become available on their site. Both impressed me quality wise considering each butt was <$500 (sub $1k with Revo shafts).

You won’t mistake them for a custom cue, especially not the 9K and Throne series because they feel very modern, almost like an Apple product. But the K Series Classic I have definitely has classic cue vibes and is a great alternative for me to my beloved Runde’s when I decided I really wanted something that could easily take a butt extension.

Anyway, everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but coming from custom cues to Predator for the first time recently, they’ve impressed me.

Monopoly. 'New Tech' every five minutes aimed at delusional fans. Sexist branding/marketing. Price (product performs well, but so do many others for cheaper... production line product is production line product). Could go on.

Not saying they're terrible, but not worth the hype/delusional fanboys. Any cue from the production line can do the trick. We just find something that works for us. I'd argue custom should and does have bigger variance in feel. But again, good players adjust and learn.

Absolutely, and thanks for sharing yours. Glad you found something that works for you (and jealous you can afford a SW to begin with 🤣 ). I won't begrudge anyone for finding something they like. It's just the amount of times I've been told it's amazing or better than X, Y and Z that drives me crazy. It's similar to how I feel about religion and politics lol
