I have to say, what a magnificent display of top-notch pool. Alcano showed the world what he is capable of just now. It must be going crazy in the Phillipines right now. Poor Ralf, his break totally failed him. Sometimes even when you squat whitey in the middle of the table, you just don't get a shot, time and time again. That's what happened to Ralf, and a few position errors here and there spelled his doom. Overall, Ralf didn't really play that bad. He just didn't get enough chances from Alcano, and Ralf had absoloutely NO CHANCE to get back in the match with the alternate breaks, dead wing ball format. Congrats to Ronnie Alcano.

How much of a chance do you think Ralf would've had if it had been winner breaks?

The format isn't why Ralf lost - he got outplayed, plain and simple. He never did get his ball speed under control, and he made far too many mistakes.

Match

Must have been all the people there, maybe extra lights, etc.. that caused the table to slow down some, or maybe Ralf was shooting just a bit tentatively and coming up short on shape.

I know that I have a big Thanksgiving tournament coming up Thanksgiving weekend (128 players), and I WILL BE practicing that soft break .... lol

Congrats to Ronnie and Ralf both. One thing I was very much aware of, we had 2 'Gentlemen' players in the Final, and that is a credit to the sport.
