Howdy folks,
It is unreal if u look at the results of Australian open.
Womens Semi final:
Diane Wilkinson 7
VS
Jenny Cook 3

Hazel Cook 7
VS
Denise Wilikinson 5

Finals:
Hazel cook 8
Vs
Dianne wilkinson 2

Men`s Finals:
Jenkins-winner
Vs
Bruce Wilkinson

Denise wilkinson is Bruce Wilkinson`s wife.Hazel cook is Bruce`s niece (sister`s daughter). As far as my memory goes,Jenny is Hazel`s sister.I do not know about Dianne wilkinson. They are all from Newzealand and this family dominated the Australian Open.I do not know what happened to Tammi Cantoni( Australia),Natasha Robertson( daughter of former Neazeland`s Snooker champion).
BTW the above results are a reproduction from AZ Billiards and the analysis is mine.
It is unreal.

I do not think that any thing of this kind happened before.
Cheers

Hi Gremlin, Vagabond

Finally a thread i might be able to put some real insight into. Firstly just to correct a couple of things Diane is Denises mother, and Denises is Hazels cousin. They are from tokoroa, but it is actually situated in the North Island of New Zealand. (Sorry to nit pick)

I know both girls quite well, especially Hazel as she is of a similar age (i think she is 18 at the moment) Denise is actually only 14 years old (possibly 15 now) both are very strong players and have won New Zealand womens titles. I know the girls because they used to come to play in a weekly womens tournament in the pool club that i work in (about 1hr north of tokoroa), and they do normally bring about 5 players and 95% of the time one of them goes home with the money, but they do it more for the practise and the fun because by the time they are through i'm sure the expnses would probably match the prize money. The girls though are both extremely nice and very friendly and i will no doubt be seeing them in the pool club when I return from the UK.

Bruce is an extremly strong player and had a very good year last year in tournaments in New Zealand, winning a lot of the big tournaments (though not big compared to the US) but he also has a brother Phil who playes extremly well also.

The tokoroa club is a very nice place with a large contingent of junior players who consistinly top the country , the top male player in the country and the top female players, which is extremly good when you consider the town has a population of probably 10,000. Anyway hope I haven't draged on to much and you may have a little more insight into the family situation.

Hello Vagabond

Sorry but i can't tell you much about how Natasha Roberson's pool is going, here father was president of the club that i worked at a few years ago but there was a rather serious incident that occured when he was president (which i shouldn't go into detail about on here), which has resulted in them not playing any pool in the club, so i know little about her. I hear that she is quite a strong player though.

I haven't been in my country for a year now as i am currently on a gap year in England at a school in the south of england and unfortuantly haven't been able to play much serious pool (or snooker) but i am going home mid december and will be straight back into it. As for the pool sceen because of my absence i cannot update you too much and the websites for pool in New Zealand arn't that well updated, but when i return i will try and post an update of things if people are interested.

Thanks NZBoy

That's some intersting insight to pool in New Zealand, I wished I could've been born into that family!

NZ, I would love to hear an update on the pool scene over there upon your return.
