So....in the current IPT event it shows Rodney Morris:

Games Played - 115
Break and Runs - 47

I am under the impression that this event is alternate break.

Total Breaks - 58

Break and Run% = 81%


Even the 40% would be a pretty strong number, but 80% of the time he breaks he runs out???

Thats impressive....

IMO, it is great that IPT keeps track of player's stats. How nice to be able to compare players' stats over a period of time.
 
Yeah I have been impressed also with the way Oliver Orrtmann has been playing too. He is having at least 4 or 5 BNRs each match. Scary.
 
Yea Rodney M. Has been tearing up this tourny, and his % of B N R's is way above anyone else. I think in the beginning of the tourny it was up around 60%
 
I would guess with all the big $$$ being tossed around by winning games of eight ball, that a higher level of play would be inevitable.

You have 'Excel' ... lol Not too hard to import into Excel on a tournament basis with a summary worksheet overall. With a few macros, it could be pretty automatic. Having 'Access' database or a PC oriented database would probably be even easier. If the IPT provided a function where tournament stats could be downloaded after it is done, it would be even better. That way, individuals, or associations could provide information to the general Pool playing public many years from now, or provide averages or standards for the Pool playing public.

I would like to know if the IPT is using a PC based system for all their stats, and reporting on the website. Being able to sort the stats is nice, but takes too long .... jeepers, it is only 200 records, I use to sort over 6 million records faster.
 
Rodney Morris is one of my favorite players to watch when he's in stroke, he just looks so loose and his game just flows so nicely.

Note that there are 2 types of B&R stats listed - Total B&R% over all games played whether he's breaking or not, and B&R% of games won (Which by definition must be games in which he breaks). So right now his stats are 36.36% and 55.45%. The second higher figure means that every time he has the breaks he runs the whole rack more than half of the time, which is very strong shooting.

Note that his overall win percentage is 65.58%. That means, with an overall B&R figure of 36.36%, he wins a bit more than half his games with a B&R and less than half when his opponent either breaks dry, foluls or leaves him a shot mid-rack. (Unfortunately the IPT does not have that level of detail in their stats yet.)
