The playing cue is required to jump a ball. If you want to bring a cue for cut shots, a cue for bankshots, a cue for rail shots, or a cue for masse' shots ... you may.

"I know a player has to use a full cue for jumping the cue ball, but, can they use their breakstick for jumping or do they have to use the playing cue?"
Yes, it just has to have a leather tip...as all cues must be anyway. The balance point must be at least 33" from the tip of the cue. All cues must be between 53 and 63 inches long.
"Also, how many sticks are allowed to be brought to the table?"
At this time there is NO specified limit.
"Can a player put a stick together for a jump shot other than the playing cue and break cue?"
There is nothing that disallows this. However, I can tell you that I have never seen it done yet. Also, you can be sure that a referee will check that cue out pretty carefully before you're allowed to use it. If you use a cue that does not meet all the qualifications (even accidently) it is a loss of game or greater at official discretion.

This is interesting. An IPT player and referee saying two different things. I figure the intent of the rule was for the playing cue to be used, but, it doesn't say that in the rules.
To me, you might be able to use that cue once before the rule is changed.
This is kind of like the crawling on the table rule.
Maybe it should be clarified and/or changed before a ruckus starts.
