Anyone remember him??...He was a pretty good New England champ back in the 60's and 70's...Boy do I miss Johnny Marco...he had a good following and we often played in front of railbirds...Johnny would tell them 'watch how good he is on these long straight shots'...and he would tell the fans that he knew the best way to make me miss...he told jokes and made me laugh...he bragged that he could tell jokes for two weeks straight and never tell the same joke twice...it worked too...it's awful tough for me to concentrate when a funny line is running through my head...
Johnny Marco...I could write a book...anyone remember him??...He might have been a pro baseball pitcher if he had the chance instead of going to work to contribute to the family at an early age...I had the good luck to catch warm ups for him in the alley behind the pool room when he was getting ready to pitch the first three innings in the annual old-timers vs. cops charity game. He mowed them down every year up until he was almost seventy years old. Last time I caught for him he was developing a knuckler.
