Hi Cuedoctor,
I know that everybody is concerned about me and the cue,...
I had an account before on ebay with 11 positive feedbacks but was registred on my mother and i canceled it.I said that i accept only wire transfers because i haven,t tried other payment methods and don,t know they work.If you or someone else can explain to me how an Escrow payment works?

Misel
Escrow is simple.
You send the cue to Joey, the customer sends the money to Joey.
If everything is as it should be, Joey sends the money to you, and the cue to the customer.

Joey is A+++++

Gilbert Hit

THey are great cues--nice solid hit--balance 1" above wrap, cue does most work, no need to overstroke, good feedback.

How does an Andy Gilbert cue hit? Is it a soft or hard hitting cue? I see that the cue uses something called "implex" technology. I just wanted some players opinions on his cues, thx!

Don't know much about other cuemakers but I own an 04' Gilbert and will never buy a cue from another maker. Andy can do anything other makers can so why bother? Fortunately I got my cue from Ebay for a great price and now that I know how well the craftsmanship is and how great they play, Andy has got my business from now on. Robb Saez is one of my best friends and he plays with one. Thats how I found out about Gilbert cues. SkippyFL on this Forum is also a buddy of mine and he hit with my cue and now he owns one and just bought another gilbert J/B. Need I say more? The only thing I can say about the hit is it feels right.

Gilbert crafmanship and hit is second to none. I had been looking around for custom cues for a while when I hit ARM's cue. I couldn't imagine something hitting any better. Like ARM says as far as cues are concerned I don't plan on playing with anything other than a Gilbert for a long time. I am extremely happy with both of my Andy Gilbert Cues and am on the prowl for more.

I have hit with Scruggs, Omen, Schon, and a few other high end Cues and I prefer my Andy Gilbert to all of them.

Other Nice Cuemakers

Ill tell you I searched the globe for the right cue and it wasnt until last year at the VFexpo that I picked up a gilbert players and ran racks. Andy's claim to fame are his break jump cues that if you can get one, get one!! Also great cues for the money and hit a ton are BCM--Bryan Mordt-www.bcmcue.com-can make you anything you want reasonably as well as Mike Stacey--www.mstaceycues.com two great newly established cuemakers that havnt went crazy with pricing. And Paul Dayton / Skip Weston I would say make very similar hitting cues, stiff cue--with light hitting feedback (very difficult to explain) with great balance, the just feel weightless when in stroke feeling--effortless english. Phillippi also you cannot go wrong, doesnt get enough props either.

I don't know what soft or hard means. Never did. Everyone seems to have different definitions.

Anyway, I like the way it feels, before, during, and after I hit the cue ball.

A capone is a soft hitting cue. Can anyone compare how the gilbert hits from there? I'm just interested in knowing. I'm seriously considering getting one, but I want to know for sure. Thx!

WHO MAKES A DECENT PLAYERS CUE BUT I HAVENT SEEN A SINGLE OMEN WITH ANY INLAY WORK EVER! BASICALLY 4 OR 6 HILO POINTS WITH RINGS,THATS IT,BUT HE DOES USE SOME NICE COLORS.SCRUGGS ,NOW HE IS HIGH END MAKER.

Actually, buddha162 and I spent a great deal of time at Pete's booth at Valley Forge and both of us looked over some of his newer cues (with inlays) with a very critical eye and, I was extremely impressed which doesn't say much because I will sing Pete's praises to anyone who will listen. I will always have at least one of his cues in my collection. But buddha has an extremely hard-to-please, very critical eye and even he admitted that the inlay work was top-notch. Pete is a fantastic cuemaker and while he does favor the more simple, 4 and 6 point style cue, he does inlay work and it is really impressive.

Well I'll have to eat my lunch ,But like you say,NEWER inlaid cues,he must be getting up in the world because those are the first inlayed cues I have seen from omen,no inalys in the points though. There nice cues and he's always stuck in that corner in valley forge across from gullasey, this year with stroud at his booth I believe.Didnt even bother to check his cues because they never changed in the past years there,he does well though

An example of a soft hitting cue would be a mike capone. A hard hitting cue would be a Joss West cue. I'd rather the soft hitting personally. I understand that ivory joints would make a cue soft hitting, is this true?

I have a Capone with Ivory joint and ferrell and have to say I agree with you ... my first impression was that it was soft hitting cue ... especially compared to my Espiritu and Jensen which are 5/16 x 14 metal joint. Those hit like a tank.

I'm not good enough to say what is better .. I think it depends on individual taste ...

Having said that, I seem to always go back to my Predator ... for me, very predictable cue - but I have played with it longer and trust what I can or cannot do with it.

I asked you on other thread but was wondering how long the shipping will take - to California, USA and what potential tax issues are there ... also want to know if you have done transactions before, from Slovenia.

I wouldn't want Custom issues.

Hi Jazz,
The shipping by UPS will take 3-4 days.I have sold cues before but i had the ebay account on my mother that,s why i cancel it.I have done transactions before and everything went smooth.I would love to offer PayPal but my country for now doesn,t offer that option.
