Andy Grubbs!

I just got the worse news I have every heard. Andy passed away today. He was one of the greatest people I have ever met. He ran Starcade in Ft. Walton. He was always helpful to anybody, and one of the nicest guys you would ever want to met. He will be missed by many...........I really don't know what to say. We will all miss him! Truely one of the GOOD GUYS.

It wasn't just me that lost a friend..........alotta people lost a friend! In all the years I knew him he was a friend to everybody he met! He always had time to sit and tell pool stories about the things he had seen. Still can't believe this happened!

Andy was a Prince

Sorry to hear that, I agree Andy was a super nice guy, loved by all that had the pleasure to know him. I certainly enjoyed Andy's company many times and send my sorrow to his family. God Bless !

Very sad news

This is some of the worst news I have heard in a while. Andy
was a friend and I dont know of anyone that knew him that
didnt like him and consider him a friend.
This is the first year I have missed going to at least one of his
tournaments. I took vacation there every year as well and he always would get together while I was around. Even non- poolplaying friends that went with me on vacation would always want to go to Starcade. Andy made
everyone feel welcome and he treated everyone fairly.
This is truely a great loss to the pool community.
I wish his family all the best and my heart go out to them and his
friends.

This is horrible. I met Andy 6 years ago when I was at my first duty station, Hurlburt Field in Ft. Walton Beach. Andy was one of the nicest people I have ever met in the pool world. Just a real stand up guy. Taught me a lot about pool, pool history, and even let me hit some shots with his beautiful Szamboti (he still played with it daily back then - apparently he retired it not too long ago). He will certainly be missed.

Anyone interested in attending his Service.........It will be Monday at 10 am. Email me if you are planning on going, I can find out exactly where.

From Andy Grubbs' Son

To All of Any Grubbs' Friends,

I know Andy's heart was with all of you. His loss will be felt from biliard tables around the Country. It is hard for me to express my feelings. All of you have fantastic in helping me through this time. What helps me is knowing that the veil of his friendship covers such a wide expanse and the sorrow of his passing if felt by so may who truly cared about him. You can rest assured that he is in a better place and playing billiards with his Szamboti.

Thank You One and All,
