I am considering going with Andy Cloth the next time i change the felt in my Pool Hall. I have Simonis 860 now and what Andy cloth would play similar to it or better. Any thoughts on this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'm not familiar with Andy cloth!? But, we've been using Championship Touring Edition 3030 for quite a few years now and find that it holds up really well in our "bar type atmosphere". We have four (4) older Dynamo 8' tables with Ridgeback rails and, IMO they play just a little faster than the Simonis cloth.

Steinway Billiards uses Andy. You can see it on the live stream for the 14.1 World or on The Hustlers.

To all it may concern: I am a Andy cloth importer and distributor located in Kissimmee, Florida as Eastern Billiard Suppy. There are three model numbers to be aware of. Th 600 Club is suitable for all situations, from pool halls to bar rooms to boys clubs. It is very close to Simonis in technical specs and playability in my opinion. Then there is 588 Pro Tour. Excellent cloth for you pool room or club. I think it's better than Simonis, and Tour Edition. Then there is the Top Shelf cloth used around the world in the top championship arenas and world tour competitions, 988 Pro Tour. It's a finer thread and a finer weave than any other cloth out there. Use it on your best tables for your best , most discerning customers with the utmost confidence. We stock all of these grades of Andy cloth. There may be slowdowns in supply as demand increases and ability to transport decreases. We will do our best to have what you need when you need it.

Why do you think it is better than Simonis?

I am not seeing 600 on the Andy site. Do you mean 900 by chance?

Andy 988 is great billiard cloth (80/20).. not as coarse as Champ 3030 (70/30), plays close to 860 (90/10), great playing cloth..lot of CB control. 600 club (70/30) seems to be closer to 760 in fibre blend, weight, and cloth speed..just my 2 cents (from personal experience).

600 is made for clubs/bars. I didn't think it was anywhere near 760 speed. Not even close as fast. Same wool/nylon ratio but not as dense/heavy.

We’ve had them both. Never again anything but Simonis 860 HR for our poolroom. Even if you re-cover every year, the price difference is so little it’s absolutely no factor.

The texture of the Andy pro cloth surface is completely different than Simonis - the Andy feels like fine sandpaper to your hands and removing stains is much harder to do on the Andy, has been our experience. But yes, speed wise Andy Pro may play a little faster than Simonis 860 HR.

We had 988ANDY at Magoo's for a few yrs and it was great cloth.Speed and durability were on par with HR Simonis. didn't notice any texture differences as mentioned above. The new Premier is supposed to be even better.
