Annoying "step" in ferrules

I have a Paul Dayton and the ferrules on both shafts have a "step" down to the shaft. I'd say about .005 or .010 thou. Can they be turned down or do I need new ferrules?

Yep, find a competent cue repair person, (cuemaker if possible*) and they should be able to even things out for you very easily.

*I say cuemaker if possible, because a cuemaker will probably have a more precise lathe, and be able to cut your ferrules down very accurately.
