Need help identifying unknown cue/Szamboti blank?

I bought this cue along with a Centennial case last week. It is a very well made cue with very well executed points and ivory ferrules on both shafts. It is nearly identical to the Showman that is on the Wanted/For sale board but I don't think it is a Showman. It appears to be fairly old probably from the 80's. I have seen bumpers like that on a few of the 1980's Palmer's but I don't think this is a Palmer. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ryan

I am fairly certain now that this cue is made from a Gus Szamboti blank, quite possibly one of his Bicentennial blanks. I also sent an email to Tate but I havent heard back from him yet. I just moved to Chicago and my blue book of cues is in storage until the movers bring everything November 3rd. Does anyone happen to have Barry Szamboti's contact information/ email??? Thanks again for your help

Thanks again

Aha, thank you so much, mystery is finally solved. I just sent an email to Barry Szamboti to get his opinion on whether or not the blank could have been made by he and his father, it will be interesting to see what he says. Thanks again to all of you. The knowledge of AZers never ceases to amaze me

The model 11 third catalog IMHO is really hard to find. You have the catalog colors and I think someone putting that catalog together would love to have that cue. Some cues are definately rarer than others and I don't think I have had one to sell in 20 years. Plus to me, its almost like a Szam tribute cue.

I've only seen 2 in the last 2 years. It is very much like a Szamboti tribute cue, in fact I sent pictures of the cue to Barry Szamboti for his opinion on the blank and he said that he thought it was probably a Gus Szamboti blank, he said that he couldnt be absolutely certain but if he had to guess then he would guess that it was made by his father. Unfortunately I can't keep the cue, I am in a bind financially so I need to sell this cue. I listed it for sale on ebay Monday night and someone is going to get a heck of a nice cue for probably a really great price.
