Another playing the ghost post...

I always hear about people playing the ghost and heck, I've even posted in a few threads about it. I've never tried playing the ghost anything though, so I had a little free time this weekend and gave it a shot. I played the ghost 9-ball, race to 5. I got BIH after the break, all balls made on the break stay down, scratches counted as a loss and a 9-ball made early counted as a win.

I played on a 9-foot table at Rusty's in Arlington, TX (table 2).

Here's how it went...

Rack 1 - Got to the 7-ball, needed to come around the table 3 rails for the 8-ball. Missed the 7-ball (but got shape on the 8-ball, ha ha).

Rack 2 - Got out, no problems

Rack 3 - Got out, no problems
Ghost 1, Samiel 2

Rack 4 - Broke and the 3-ball was stuck behind the 5-ball. Missed shape properly on the 2-ball by about an inch and got tough on the 3-ball. Missed the 3-ball.
Ghost 2, Samiel 2

Rack 5 - Scratched on the break.
Ghost 3, Samiel 2

Rack 6 - Broke and the 9-ball leaked towards the corner pocket. Combination on the 9-ball with the 2-ball.
Ghost 3, Samiel 3

Rack 7 - Got out of shape on the 3-ball and missed it in the side.
Ghost 4, Samiel 3

Rack 8 - Early combination on the 9-ball (need to rack better I guess).
Ghost 4, Samiel 4

Rack 9 - Hill-Hill! I got bad on the 4-ball and missed it trying to get shape on the 5-ball.
Ghost 5, Samiel 4 - Final!

I'll need to try for longer races in the future, but I didn't feel too bad since I'm a C player. :p More testing is needed, but I feel at this point that getting the last 3 or the 7-ball from the ghost is probably where my game is at now.
