HELP A OLD MAN many thanks STICK:confused:

Stick, use a softer 2 piece ball. I would suggest the Titleist NXT for you. I only play with ProV1s, but the NXT is a little harder and gets a little more distance yet still has a bit of feel on the greens.

thanks

Make sure your clubs fit. Sounds like you have thought about shaft flex, but if you can make sure your clubs fit and are right for you. I picked up 20 yards on my best drives this year changing shaft flex in the driver.

I am 30 years younger and need to start a better fitness program. Get flexible. At 67 you need to work on strength and flexibility.

Never take a cart of course. It isn't golf and will hurt your back and take away your flexibility.

Make sure your set make up is good. If you are carrying a 3 or 4 iron and your handicap is higher than 2 your set make up could probably stand improvement.

The ball. IMO the ball is the most significant factor for the high swing speed player getting distance and the least for the recreational player. Noodles, low compressions like the Hawk, Pro-V's will all probably work. Depends on how far you hit it. If your drives are 230 it won't matter that much. If you carry it 285 it is a different story. What has happened with balls is this. The USGA failed in regulating the game. They set up inadequate testing. So the ball that passes an overall distance standard performs much differently when struck at a high swing speed at the right launch angle. Pros tune their equipment to get the maximum out of the ball, and they get more out of it than you possibly can in all likelihood. There has never been a greater disparity in the game the pros play and the game everybody else plays, and it is ruining the game. The ball should be dialed back, because the regular player probably wouldn't lose much, if any, distance. The pros would still be able to play on courses that were not ruined by redesign. OB tees at St Andrews, Augusta modified to ruin the architectural theory and strategy the course was based on, feh.

Stick, I'm not working at the restaraunt. I'm managing his car dealership. The only day I have off is Sunday. I can take a day off during the week if I plan ahead of time though.

Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I'd ask this here since it's vaguely related.

What is the pool version of Golf all about? The one played on a snooker table.
