Any one ever use a transit

to level a table?? Have a used professional model that might be available. This is supposed to be accurate to 1/16" over 150'.

Leveling a table is no easy task as I discovered when I did my table. I think I spent something like 10 hours doing mine. This included finding low spots caused by people sanding fillers over the years in pocket shelf areas and near the seams. I myself used a machinist's straight edge and a machinist's level. Good luck

and st. edge is how we do it now. Have used several "reputable" mechanics over the years with poor results.
