When my buddies and I are practicing 8-ball, we give the loser a chance to run out the rest of his/her balls. I guess is was a way to save face in a way. We have always done this and finally made a game out of it.

As soon as the 8 ball is pocketed, the loser has one shot to run out the rest. If they do, the win is only worth 1 point and if they dont, it's worth 2. We usually play a race to 20 points. Last time we played, it took 3 hours for me to win.

Why do I like doing it? It give more practice while playing a serious match and to improve running tables without any other balls blocking you.

Your opinions..........;)

We use to call this Jeopardy 8-ball. Just before the first person who has the winning shot on the 8ball shoots he/she has to call Jeopardy or Double Jeopardy. Jeopardy is making the 8 and then running the remaining balls= 2pts #Jeopardy is making the 8 and running the remaining balls in numerical order= 3pts. If that person calls a jeopardy and then misses the 8ball the other player gets 1pt immediately and then can get another pt if he wins the game out right like normal 8ball. The player who first missed the 8ball can regain a pt by winner the game in normal fashion.
I just reread that and it maybe confusing but I'm to tired to edit or clear that up...LOL
