Is there anyone else here that uses the Mezz cue? I've had this cue for about 8 months or so - I don't think there is a better cue out there (IMO). I've had a ton of them ... since I fitted this cue with the 314/United Joint - its so solid ... as if it were 1 single unit.

I'm thinking or retrieving the Mezz Power Break 2 cue now.

I've hit with Mika's and the thing plays great. He liked the hit the first day he switched from Capone. I've also tried his Mezz break cue. Hits real soild plus it is real easy to use it for full cue jump shots. Mika also gave Angel Paglia a Mess break cue that she likes alot. amc4

I play with a Mezz ZZ-09. In my opinion, it is the best hitting production cue on the market. Comes standard with a predator shaft and moori tip and plays awesome. It is tough to convince "Custom Cue Players", but they are great cues. Japanese made, which should tell you the quality is very high.

Well then - I'm sold. As soon as "my ship comes in" - I'm into a Mezz Power Break 2 ..especially since you've stated it makes a good jumper.

I have a frog - And I'm like Corey ...I HATE the shortness of it. Why, just cause you're jumpin' would you want it so short?

Corey's long jump cue is made by Jacoby and the things jumps good too. amc4

Have you tried the Hybrid shaft?

Nice cue. Have you played with the Hybrid shaft on you LE2000? I thought that is what their top end cues (Inclduing the Mika special) came with. Or did it come with this but you replaced it with a 314?

It came with the nonHybrid :( and the predator. The predator I got with it had a standard 5/16 configuration which is INCORRECT!

The joint for mezz is the Mezz United Joint 5/16 - the standard 5/16 will screw down on it - but its a sloppy fit and IMO will eventually DESTROY that great joint on the but. So I had to order from CueStix International, a new Predator shaft fitted with the United Joint.

I'd love to try out the Hybrid shaft - but (since I'm no rich anymore :( ) the 314 on this cue is awesome its almost pointless to look at anything else.

Have you played with a 314 shaft on other cues? I have tried several on different butt/joint configurations and never got comfortable with the hollow feeling.

Also, does the Power Break cue break down for jumping or do you just jack up and jump with the full cue? If so this presumably means you cannot use the "dart" jump stroke for close-up jumps.

Yes - and the majority sucked. Its all in the Joint (IMO). It must be TIGHT MACHINE FIT ...not that "sloppy screw down" stuff. That cannot yeild a solid cue.

I dont' know. For me - I want 2 piece not three. I'll ask Kevin at CueStix and see what he says about this one.

As you can see my sig below, I'm using a Mezz. I've had it for over 2 years now and haven't changed. I've played with many production cues, but this one fits me best.

I've played with the normal shaft, Hybrid, Hybrid Pro, 314 and Z on a Mezz with United Joint and my preferences are Hybrid Pro and Z.

I'm still saving for the PowerBreak II, AirShooter and a Z shaft with united joint.

I'm a Mezz guy all way out.

Hey you've shot with the Hybrid eh ... Does it have any of the lowDeflection characteristics of the 314?

....and you've shot with the Z. I've never even seen the 'Z' (other than the photos) - my issue is that that the Z has a Euro Taper, not the pro taper. So that when you stroke ...your grip must adjust to the FATTNESS of it coming in. That really seems like a bummer to me. Hows the deflection on that thing? I'm a big fan of the 314 Pro Taper - With proper stroke you don't need to apply ANY adjustment for radical side spin : what you see is what you get.

It does have minimal deflection. It is not as stiff as a 314 or a Z. I think you can see ratings of this in Platinum Billiards. The selling point of the Hybrid Pro is it's cored, which is inserted with Carbon Fiber. This makes it a little bit stiff.

I think I won't have problems with a Z shaft as I stroke very little. I rarely use a close bridge and it only happens if I want to draw. I've only ever seen the Z with United Joint being offered in Japan (http://www.tp-cc.com/ss-maker.htm) as I travel there at least once a year. I haven't seen it offered anywhere else.
