I see that The Hole Thang is supposed to have their monthly 9-ball tournament tomorrow afternoon, and I was pondering heading down and donating my $25. :P

Anyone else in the Atlanta area going down, and if so, anyone interested in carpoolin' it?

Post here or drop me a PM.

*Rimshot!*

Wish I could be there....
I got to visit the place on my last trip home if Feb.
It's in a old bowling alley on the eastside.... a butt load of bar boxes and some nice 9ftrs (4 or 5 cant remember) tucked around the corner. Plus a few old ass Brunswick snooker tables.

Are they still doing the cookout and poker tourney in conjuction with the tourney??

BTW.... whne I was there last, one of the guys (owner possibly??) told me thought that Earl used to play there as a kid when it was a bowling alley.... does anybody know if that's true??

Yes to the poker tournament ($20buy in, 1 rebuy, 1 add-on) and it starts at 2pm.

And yes to the free smoked boneless ribs. Picking them up right now so they can be marinating over night.

and the Earl Strickland story: Earl lived in Macon when he was little for a short timeand lived up the street (maybe 6 or 7 blocks away). He had an older brother that could shoot pool really good. Hisolder brother used to play at Macon Bowl (where The Hole is located now). Sometimes Earl would come knock balls around also. That is the story I have heard in town ad have tried to get in touch with Earl to find out if the legend is true. Because that would be like sitting on the mound Nolan Ryan learned too pitch on. Anyway, if anyone knows a way to contact Earl, let me know. I would love to know for sure.
