Anyone have a custom shmelke cue?

Oh, they reeled in for the covid economy. You can still get stuff though not all of it without price increases.
You used to be able to get 100 dollar break cues with matching shafts that could easily be turned into player looking cues - collared joints, pin of choice, etc... You can mail them for quotes if you want a good shooting stick with looks to suit your preferences.

Those were basically production cues that they let you option out.
They reeled them in because they have cut back on the production cue volume considerably.
You can still reach out and get anything any way you want it, but it will incure some upcharge because it’s not off the rack.

I sold a Schmelke SP here about six months ago- I had the cue "customized" in terms of weight, shaft taper, tip choice, ferrule choice, joint screw choice, and base wood choice. All of that cost about $170. Cue played great and looked great in Bocote wood. Contact them if you want a fancier cue built to see other options. Billiards Warehouse has a big selection of Schmelke cues to view as a starter.

I just ordered the following: rosewood/maple sneaky, 60", 12.75mm, 1/2" black buttcap and a little smaller(1.22") butt diam. All in delivered price was 185bux. My last Schm. had shafts that warped(very little but still) and 'cause i was outside the year warranty date they wouldn't replace. I'm giving them another aka LAST go-round. I've this shaft warps i'm done. You can get a nice cue for not a big invest. from them.

I have a Schmelke SP cue I got from Mike Mosconi. It’s my first sneaky Pete cue and I am impressed by the fit and finish.
I applied a couple coats of Renaissance Wax on the cue shaft and it is as smooth as any of my other cue shafts.
The weight specs are really fine and so I became curious what else might be available dealing with Schmelke.

My buddy just got two Kielwood shafts from Schmelke and they turned out great. I acquired a Barnhart Roasted Maple
Shaft, aka, Kielwood, a couple of months ago. It is a fabulous shaft. I’d get another if Cory offered it with a different joint
than radial but he doesn’t. I’m going to get a Kielwood from Schmelke because I’ve seen and hit balls with a real one.

If I wanted to start all over, I’d order a custom version (different wood choices) SP cue from Schmelke and a Kielwood
Shaft. I estimated it would run well under $500 and as I earlier stated, the Schmelke SP cue I have looks and plays
great for the price. Couple that with a Schmelke Kielwood shaft & I think it’s a relatively inexpensive great combination.

Below are photos of the Schmelke Kielwood shafts my friend just got this past week. He specified 1” Juma ferrules.
I compared the shafts with my Barnhart RMS and all three shafts resemble each other esthetically and similar specs.
I included a photo of the 3 shafts for your own comparison. If you are looking for your first cue, or just a great travel cue, consider a Schmelke SP and add their Kielwood shaft. I think it’s relatively inexpensive and a winning combo.

That sounds like my type of cue, I love rosewood. Do you know what weight it's coming in at?

I bought a Rosewood sneaky from them, maybe 10 years ago. I had them put a 3/8' stainless pin, with wood threads in the shaft. Can't remember what I paid for it, but probably not more than $125, or so. I rarely use it, but I just checked, and it's straight as an arrow. Can't really remember how it plays, but I don't recall having any complaints, either.
